Player development program

Greenhithe FC has a proud history of producing exceptional Junior/Youth players. To fulfill this tradition, GFC uses a modern football philosophy delivered through a year-long periodized plan, developing players with consistency from year to year. The club is extremely proud of providing an exciting development program while maintaining the lowest fees.

Greenhithe Alumni include the likes of current and past All Whites, age group All whites as well as a number of Regional Representatives. Year on year, our teams represent our club in a number of tournaments, regularly placing in the top 3.

The development squad comprises 1-2 teams in each grade made up of players selected at the trials. All players wishing to play Development Football will be required to attend trials.

Players in the development team must:

  • Runs from Term 1/2/3 with optional term 4
  • One training session per week will be a Skill centre session taken by a JL3 qualified coach, the other by the team coach.

The trainings will be based on the clubs 4 year Junior Program to provide consistent development from year to year. This program is developed under the guidelines of the NZF Skill centre program.

If during the season, changes are desired for the benefit of the player, the Club will seek to address this where ever possible.
